Be part of Hitachi Energy’s R&D Technology community and contribute to shaping a more sustainable energy future. This role is based at our Zaragoza (Spain) R&D center , a key hub for dry-type transformer technologies , uniquely positioned close to manufacturing and testing teams .

As R&D Project Manager , you will lead innovation-driven projects focused on performance, reliability, and competitiveness of dry-type distribution transformers. You will work in a highly collaborative, international environment , partnering with global R&D, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and testing teams .

This is a role for someone who thrives in execution , enjoys working close to the product, and can connect technical development with project delivery excellence . You will continuously develop your skills in project management, stakeholder coordination, and R&D methodologies.

How you’ll make an impact

• Lead end-to-end R&D projects from planning to delivery.

• Ensure scope, timing, budget, and quality targets are achieved.

• Contribute to the definition and validation of new technologies and product improvements .

• Coordinate requirements with engineering, manufacturing, testing, quality, and global R&D teams .

• Enable effective cross-functional and international collaboration .

• Maintain project schedules, cost sheets, technical files, and reports .

• Manage risks, changes, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

• Act as a clear and reliable communication partner for all stakeholders.

Your background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering , or related field.

• Experience in project management within industrial, engineering, or R&D environments.

• Solid knowledge or strong interest in transformers or electrical products .

• Experience using project management tools and methodologies (e.g. MS Project, Agile principles).

• Strong communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills.

• Fluency in English and Spanish , written and spoken.
