Contacted by recruiter. Very basic phone screen. Sent an assessment. Passed assessment so set up with approx 5 interviews over 2 days. Plus writing assignment and pre call prep call from recruiter. At no time throughout the process was I provided feedback as to potential challenges of the job or how my qualifications might measure up or not- even when I asked. Everyone was very friendly and at no time challenged me so you feel like you’re interviewing in a vacuum. I get that they are imitating Google’s interviewing style where you talk to a panel across departments to eliminate bias, but Google applies this methodology in a very sophisticated way. Amazon just comes across as completely detached from the candidate. When you end up with zero feedback and zero offer it’s hard not to feel both duped & used. I spent hours prepping with full respect for their methodology. I absolutely did not feel at all respected or valued in return. A bad experience.
