Grede partners with a potting soil manufacturer in North Carolina to repurpose its foundry sand into potting soil. 🌱 Because of this, our plant in Biscoe, NC, reduced landfill waste by 98% last year! ♻ They combine the foundry sand with wood chips to make the soil. Recycling is just one part of the process. Reducing and reusing materials are equally, if not more, important. Grede’s potting soil project is just one example of how we reuse foundry sand to reduce waste. Our sand is also reused to create airport runways, cement, roads, construction projects, etc. #GlobalRecyclingDay #BeneficialReuse #Sustainability #CastingABrightFuture
At Grede, we have the best technicians in the industry. Ivy Tech Community College recently asked two of our technicians to instruct courses this semester. John Waters, an Environmental Technician, is teaching an electrical class, and Christian Willis, a PLC Technician, is teaching a PLC class. Grede has a great relationship with Ivy Tech, and we’re proud to be involved in our community. It’s another example of how we’re demonstrating our corporate citizenship value. We’re also proud to be part of educating and developing more skilled trades workers. They aren’t a dime a dozen in the foundry industry, and we greatly value their work to keep equipment running and enable operational execution. #SkilledTrades #CorporateCitizenship #Technicians #GoFurtherWithGrede

Safety always comes first. Our St. Cloud, MN plant recently held CPR and first aid training through the National Safety Council. Thirty employees got certified and gained lifesaving skills. Although our goal is to achieve zero accidents and injuries, it’s critical to know what to do if an incident occurs. #SafetyFirst #SafetyCulture #ESG #EHS

Travis Mewton won Salesperson of the Year and the Margin Management Award, and Matthew Wilkins won the Peak New Business Award (out of 10 AEs). The Plant of the Year Award requires a plant to perform well in all significant business areas, including safety, quality, delivery, inventory, sustainability, continuous improvement, controllable costs, and EBITDA.
