Gating techniques refer to how we pour molten metal into the mold cavity. Gating designs are crucial for the success of a casting, and a poor gating system can lead to increased scrap production. The metalcasting industry is Wisconsin's second-largest industrial energy consumer. The melt process consumes 75% of the industry’s energy, so Grede is always looking for creative ways to reduce its energy intensity.
