Solicité el puesto a través de la escuela superior o la universidad. Acudí a una entrevista en Yahoo en sept 2014
Entrevista
First on-campus interview.
It started with very general question before becoming more technical. He didn't ask anything related to data analysis/machine learning, only algorithms.
The first one was:
- considering a list of N numbers, return, if it exists, the number that occurs more than half the length of the list.
- Design a random country generator with probability corresponding to the country's population.
The interviewer was nice and helpful.

Not coming from a CS major, I struggled a bit for the algorithms.

Entrevista
Recruiter passed me off to hiring manager. HM was not interested in the meeting at all. Described the role and company but did not bother asking any relevant questions regarding my experience. 10 minutes into the interview, HM asked me if I had any questions. I ended up carrying the conversation for 25 minutes asking questions.
Job description did not match the responsibilities the hiring manager was laying out. Description said Data Science but HM was talking about something else entirely that had nothing to do with DS. Major red flag there.
Overall, it was a waste of time as the HM was very distracted and exuded negativity.

First round is technical round - asks several A/B testing questions and then a few medium level SQL coding questions live in coderpad. Interviewer was fairly friendly, and the if you study up A/B testing interview questions it should be fine. The SQL questions aren't too bad if you have prior knowledge with SQL.
