      Entrevista de Technical Program Manager

      Solicitud

Solicité el puesto a través de la recomendación de un empleado. El proceso duró 6 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Twitch (San Francisco, CA) en mar 2016

      Entrevista

Applied through a ex-coworker who worked there. Got a call from a recruited, phone screen. Probably did 3 more phone interviews and I was invited onsite. Onsite was 4 hours, 8 interviewees (1:1 and 2:1). I thought the process was well structured and reasonably efficient. Credit due as they seemed to make an effort not to repeat questions over and over. Most of the interviews / questions were pretty standard. During the "technical" session, the smug fellow interviewing me sat behind his laptop lobbing pre-written questions at me. It was hard to know if he was playing a game, reading email, or checking his dating profile. I forgot his name but it probably rhymes with hat trick. I thought it went reasonably well, but knew a few sessions could have been smoother. When I received the form response email telling me I wasn't going to be offered the job, I politely requested some feedback. I was just looking to improve my interview skills (hopefully) by evaluating where I did well and need work. Nothing. I sent 2 more follow-up emails and still have heard nothing. It's a shame, since I thought the HR guy was great till that point. Maybe I am alone in this, but doesn't the employee deserve more than a form letter when they've invested this much in the process? This is why I rated them so poorly.

Sorry you felt your experience was negative. I absolutely agree that some things could have been handed differently. We generally ask interviewers to avoid using laptops if possible, but some folks prefer to take notes and most interview quite frequently, so depending on memory becomes tough. I would hope they were strictly taking notes, we absolutely remind people not to do anything else in interviews. As for the recruiter, I agree that you deserved a call or some sort of follow up - and I will certainly talk to him to understand what happened. As a company, we've decided to not share any detailed, granular feedback from interviews. Many companies take this stance and I understand that's a controversial topic. (and I've been on the other side of that over my career as well) Just to share the logic - when you share details, sometimes candidates can strongly disagree and it can turn contentious or start a further argument. As you can imagine, we prefer to avoid that since the decision was already made on our end. (And in 12+ yrs in recruiting, I've never seen a company change their mind because the candidate argued or disagreed with the decision) I understand the desire for candidates to improve on their interviewing and such with feedback - but it's a decision we've made as an organization. Otherwise, sincerely appreciate your time and effort in the process and wish you luck in your job hunt. thanks, Arthur Yamamoto Director of Recruiting

I applied for the position online, and within 48 hours received a response asking for a phone interview. When the date and time rolled around, the recruiter never called. I sent three follow up emails over three weeks, each was met with no response. I'm not sure what happened, but the experience was disappointing to say the least.

Applied and got email from recruiter to schedule phone screen, I set one up for the following week. During the call there was a lot of background noise no idea why, most recruiters I've talked to try and pitch the company to you, they want you to be excited about the company and the role, this one sounded like he was reading from a doc, asked some basic questions and in 10 minutes we were done. A day later I got an email telling me I wasn't a good fit. I've emailed requesting feedback but no response..
