I applied online and received an email from a recruiter inviting me to a first introduction meeting. It was a very nice chat, and the recruiter was really enthusiastic about the company, which really motivated me. I then received an invitation to complete a small assignment. After I've done that, they've invited me for a technical interview where we will review the code together. Little did I know that a timed live coding challenge was also planned for the meeting. It threw me completely off; I got really nervous, and it didn't go well. After that, I got a rejection email saying that they would not proceed with me and stating that it was because of some "details." Please be explicit with applicants, telling them what to expect during a technical interview; it wasn't really professional, especially for a junior role.
