After applying, I got an interview invite to solve some questions on hackerrank. There were 2 questions. One was a task to solve a particular problem using Java or Kotlin, while the other one was to complete an application in Android Studio and upload it. One thing that delayed me with the Android application was me trying to update the build.gradle file to use kotlin. Apparently, on uploading the build.grade file is reverted to its original copy. So you are expected to build the application using standard Android API's and Java.

Generic quesions about experience and Android fundamentals. I've been presented with a simple code to review and asked if there were bugs (there were). I've been also given a "test project" with some mandatory requirements and "bonus points". Completing the project including "bonus points" took me almost a week, while they estimated that it was a project for a few hours only. The interviewer did not review my project prior so I was asked to guide the interviewer throgh it during an interview. It seems like most of the effort was wasted because no one saw the fine details I have put.
