I applied online and received an email to set up a phone interview a few days later. The phone interview was very easy going and meant to dive into your experience. The guy I spoke with was very down to earth and easy to talk to. The main thing with this role is be prepared on why you want to get into sales. This role is 100% over the phone sales and gaining accounts who want to use Groupon's services. They were very upfront with this and if you have any questions for them, definitely ask. Another thing to be aware of is the pay structure. I was offered $32,500 base plus commission (seems on par with other reviews I've read). The commission is 2-4% depending on how current the Groupon is.
Anyways, I was asked to interview for the role at their head office in downtown Chicago. Their headquarters seems very cool and there is a great vibe. In the interview, I met with two different individuals. One was an account exec. and the other was an account rep. I believe. Again, they constantly asked why sales. If you have no sales experience, be prepared to address this. They did a great job at explaining exactly how Groupon works and when you interview with the second person be prepared to reexplain it or help solve a problem.
All in all, the interview went great and it seems like a very fun, young place to work. But the money was something I couldn't get comfortable with. It would either be a long commute for me or a relocation to Chicago, both of which could get pricey.

When I arrived it was at least 7 other people in the lobby waiting to be interviewed as well. When it was my turn my name was card and I was led to the interview room. I interviewed with a woman and then with a man. The interview lasted around 45 minutes. I received a call back but I wasn't able to answer when the lady called and I was never able to reach her afterwards so I just assumed I didn't get offered the position.

Phone and Skype combo. Seemed rushed and wrote me off quickly without diving deeper. Seemed like they wanted a direct connection with the work I'm doing at my current employer, but the industry and circumstances are different. They asked a lot of questions about handling stress, constant change, and working within a fast-paced team environment.
