Solicité el puesto a través de una agencia de empleo. El proceso duró 6 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Google (New York, NY)

50% good and 50% pretentious.
Second time interviewing with the company. First time was for a sourcer role for diversity over a year ago. I am based in NYC.
This time it was for a Contract Recruiter role. Overall process took over 45 days for results on two back to back 30 minute interviews. Got an offer that I declined.
The first recruiter was 8 minutes late, rushed through questions and to be honest made me feel a bit uncomfortable with her shortness as if I was not qualified and she was wasting her time. NYC based recruiter less than 10 months at google.
Second recruiter, wonderful and warm, asked me amazing questions and the call went over with me having a sense of warmth and insight that had me very intrigued. Also less than 11 months at google.
Sad to say, my experience have been 50% not good to 50% great with the way the recruiters present themselves. I thought to myself if I get an offer and choose to work there, I’d have to get comfortable working in a space where people seem a bit elitist even at that gate.
But ideally I wanted to gain more of a sense of purpose from the teams. No one seemed to understand a current strategy when I asked the question. To be honest I was very surprised to receive an offer a month after I told them I had an offer from Amazon and expect me to say yes. I am loyal and loved the process I had with AWS.
Hope the feedback helps train and coach recruiters more on inclusion and hopefully what culture means to them.

The cool recruiter asked me a great question: “what does diversity mean to me?”

Smooth sailing. The recruiter was communicative and kept me up to date throughout. Pretty clear the teams here are packed with smart people. Googleyness interview was actually quite fun, but the GCA one was pretty tricky.

Structured, rigorous, and well-organized process with clear evaluation criteria. Thoughtful interviewers, strong focus on problem-solving and communication, smooth coordination, and a professional, candidate-friendly experience throughout. Really enjoyable process overall with friendly and approachable interviewers.
I applied, then had a recruiter screen. After that, I went through two interviews focused on sourcing and stakeholder management, followed by a virtual onsite with four interviews. Each interviewer tested one competency. Maybe there would be more stages but I didn't pass the fourth one.
