They were very communicative and prompt throughout the process. I submitted my resume and cover letter and was told I was being moved forward to the next round, where they would test my writing skills. I wrote several short articles and edited another for their review. Two days later I was told they'd like to interview with me. I spoke by video to the head of the department and another writer who would be at my same level if hired. They were very friendly, fun to talk to, and the interview was much more casual than any others I've had. We had a good time talking, and they asked me some questions that took me off guard, such as "What parts of the skills test did you struggle with?" They asked several times, which made me think I must have had some glaring error, but I honestly hadn't found the skills test difficult, so it confused me that they kept returning to it. I even asked if there was something I'd missed that I should improve on, but they didn't have my skills test in front of them, so they didn't know. It didn't seem like the repeated question was prompted by an actual error I'd made, but the desire to get an answer I hadn't given. It was a little odd, but it was the only part of the interview that was - the rest of the time I felt like they were very open and interested in what I was saying. They were also helpful about answering my questions about skill development in the company. I got an email the next day saying they'd decided to move forward with other candidates. I was pretty disappointed - I thought the interview had gone well - but honestly they couldn't have been more pleasant throughout the process, and I'll likely apply again.
