Solicité el puesto a través de la recomendación de un empleado. Acudí a una entrevista en Expedia Group (Bellevue, WA) en mar 2026
Entrevista
The initial round was a deep dive into resume and a light weight coding round.
Ads domain specific interview process, with 1 coding round, 2 System Design and 1 Behavior and HM round.
All interviewers were well prepared and the experience was good.
The role was a very specific ads role and hence wanted deep Ads System knowledge.

Pregunta 1
Ads domain specific question, like auction, bidding and ads delivery.
Coding question: Remove list duplicates and Graph based question
I interviewed for an SDE 3 role at Expedia and, unfortunately, was completely ghosted even after following up for feedback. The interview itself felt frustrating and unstructured. The interviewer didn’t seem very experienced, and the questions were very low-level SQL, completely unrelated to the responsibilities of an SDE 3 position. I was expected to recall exact SQL syntax despite not having written queries in years—something more appropriate for a beginner-level role.
Compared to FAANG companies I’ve interviewed with, like Google and Meta, which provide detailed feedback and structured interviews, this experience felt like a waste of time. Overall, I left the process feeling disappointed and undervalued as a candidate.

Initial call with HR. Tech screening over Hackerrank. This was a mostly behavioral and then finally an easy question at the end. Then 5 more interviews would follow. My interviewer was old school and focused more on things like typing out all the months in the year rather than on problem solving skills. He was knowledge was very outdated and basic level. It was also very disorganized since he didn't understand his own interview question that he gave me.
