The process began with a pretty standard screening call with their staff recruiter. The all went well and I enjoyed the conversation. One day after the screening call I west sent a take-home exercise.
I submitted the take home exercise results. 5 days after submitting my results they asked me what tool I used to create the CloudFormation template. This question made me concerned that they maybe did not believe I wrote the template myself. I told them I used vim.
6 days later I heard back from the company recruiter that there was another candidate who was already far along in the process who had accepted the role. The recruiter told me that although my exercise solution solved all the problems and was "technically correct", they would have asked me more followup questions about my solutions.
I had been excited about this role given my expertise with AWS, PCI-DSS, and SOC2. Given the fact that Drizly recently experienced a large data breach I felt like I could be a real help to them to move the hosting platform forward.
