We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst II to help define and validate product, automation, data and integration requirements across our internal teams, education organisation partners, external providers and external platforms.
You will work closely with education staff, operational stakeholders, technology teams, external providers and platform partners to understand how work happens in practice, uncover detailed requirements, assess platform capabilities, and translate findings into clear, testable requirements.
This is a practical, stakeholder-facing role for someone who is technically fluent, data-savvy and detail-focused. You should be comfortable exploring workflows, APIs, data flows, permissions, reporting, platform constraints and implementation risks. Knowledge of AI-assisted prototyping, workflow automation or modern product discovery tools is valuable.
You will stay involved before, during and after delivery to test products, workflows, data outputs and integrations, adapt requirements as new information emerges, and verify that solutions meet the needs they were designed for.
- Work with internal teams, education organisation partners, education staff, external providers and external platform teams to understand operational needs in detail.
-
Map workflows, systems, handovers, data flows, permissions, reporting needs and dependencies.
-
Identify manual workarounds, duplication, missing information, inefficiencies and automation opportunities.
-
Engage with external providers and platform partners to understand capabilities, APIs, data models, documentation, technical requirements and limitations.
-
Analyse how data is captured, transformed, reported and used across operational workflows.
-
Translate findings into business requirements, functional requirements, data requirements, user stories, process maps, acceptance criteria and test cases.
-
Define how products, workflows and integrations should work, including roles, rules, data inputs, outputs, exceptions and edge cases.
-
Work with engineers throughout development to validate feasibility, clarify requirements, resolve ambiguity, assess trade-offs and adapt workflows or requirements where needed.
-
Support product discovery, platform evaluation, proof-of-concept work, pilot testing and stakeholder validation.
-
Test products, workflows, automations, data outputs and integrations before wider rollout.
-
Verify with stakeholders that delivered solutions satisfy the original requirements.
-
Maintain clear documentation of requirements, workflows, decisions, risks, feedback, changes and open questions.
- 3+ years of experience in technical business analysis, business analysis, systems analysis, implementation, product operations, technical consulting, process improvement or a related role.
-
Experience working directly with users, operational stakeholders, partners, suppliers, external providers or platform teams.
-
Ability to ask detailed questions, uncover hidden requirements and turn unclear needs into structured, testable documentation.
-
Comfortable discussing integrations, APIs, data flows, data structures, permissions, reporting, platform constraints and technical dependencies.
-
Confident working with data-heavy workflows and understanding how data supports reporting, operations and decision-making.
-
Experience investigating software platforms beyond demonstrations or marketing material to identify practical limitations, risks and dependencies.
-
Experience creating requirements documents, process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria and test cases.
-
Good judgement when balancing stakeholder needs, operational practicality, technical constraints and delivery effort.
-
Strong written and verbal English.
-
Highly organised, analytical and detail-focused.
-
Confident engaging with a wide range of people and able to build trust through clear communication and careful follow-through.
-
Knowledge of AI-assisted prototyping, workflow automation or modern product discovery tools is valuable.
-
A background in software, engineering, data, integrations or technical implementation is useful but not required.
- Requirements, edge cases, data needs and technical constraints are identified before and during development.
-
Workflows and requirements are refined as new details emerge, without losing sight of the original operational need.
-
Engineers receive clear, prioritised and testable requirements with ongoing clarification as work progresses.
-
External providers and platforms are assessed with a clear understanding of practical, data and technical fit.
-
Products, workflows, automations, data outputs and integrations are tested against real operational scenarios.
-
Stakeholders can confirm that delivered solutions meet the needs they originally raised.
-
New solutions reduce manual work, improve operational control, support better reporting and fit naturally into how education staff and internal teams need to work.
