Our Sonnedix USA team recently gathered 150 lbs (68kg) of trash, including bottle caps, food wrappers, and aluminum cans - all items harmful to one of Florida’s most valuable coastal resources: mangroves. Our volunteers joined forces with Volunteer Clean Up, an environmental conservation organization, to give back to the community to raise awareness about marine debris and educate us on how to reduce the use of plastics. Not only did the team clean the area, but essentially, they were helping the survival of many plant and animal species.
In case you missed the great news: We recently announced that Sonnedix acquired 169 solar photovoltaic plants in Spain from Qualitas Energy. 136 MWp of renewable energy raises our total capacity in the country to over 1.4 GW and helps us consolidate our position as a leading Renewable Energy Producer and a key agent in the Spanish energy transition. Here's to the outstanding #OneTeam work on this achievement!
Sonnedix has been made aware of a company that is impersonating Sonnedix in Gabon, Africa. Here's our statement:
Sonnedix’s Senior Advisor, Federico de la Hoz García, held a meeting in our Madrid office with the team to discuss the effects of the latest European regulatory changes on the electricity and gas markets. The measures of the Spanish Energy Security Plan and the impetus for the massive expansion of renewable energy projects to improve of energy prices in the country were also discussed. Thank you, Federico, for visiting our One Team in Spain, and sharing your key insights on the current energy situation in the EU.
Our One Team in Poland gathered for their first-ever team building activity by travelling to Kielce, located in the center of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. 21 team members kicked-off their two-day trip with an adrenaline rush of zip lining, followed by a scavenger-hunt-like game around the city's old town, and wrapped up their first day with a dinner by the campfire. For the second day, they climbed the Lysa Gora hill (614 meters above sea level), visited the Paradise Cave, and toured the Castle in Chęciny, a royal castle from the 13th and 14th centuries. We hope everyone enjoyed their adventure and break from the office!
As a key player in the Energy Transition, we know that attracting some of the best talent is fundamental to the success of an organization. We proudly hosted students from the Energy Student Club at IESE Business School in our Madrid office where Marc Lohoff, our COO, Jorge Arenillas, our VP of Global Energy Management, Jonathan Jay, Senior Origination Manager in Europe, Aditi Bhat, Talent Acquisition & DEI Manager, Severine Hay, Senior People Business Partner, and Ana Solano, People Business Partner in Spain, energized the students by discussing our history, culture, and insights on the renewables sector in the current EU climate.

Sonnedix reached a remarkable milestone in October: We moved into the wind space after our latest acquisition in Chile, which marked the path for the company’s expansion and evolution to become a key player in the energy transition by transitioning from an Independent Power Producer (IPP) to a Renewable Energy Producer (REP). With over a decade-long trajectory of Sustainable Growth, we have a deep-rooted focus on developing, building, and operating renewable energy projects with a focus on providing green and affordable electricity to our customers worldwide.
In early November, a group of 45 students from the Maria Inmaculada School in Madrid visited our Sonnedix Noblejas PV plant as part of their Sustainability lesson. Throughout the morning, the students studied firsthand the general process of operating a Solar PV as well as understanding how the production of green electricity is beneficial to the environment. They also learned about the roles of Asset Management and Operations And Maintenance within Sonnedix. They wrapped up their day by creating their own comic book based on everything they learned throughout the day about renewables. If you would like to visit one of our plants across the globe or have us, come to your local school, contact our education team at ESG@sonnedix.com.
Our team members in France gathered at the historic vineyard Château Suduiraut, near Bordeaux in the Southwest of France, to carry out a two-day seminar and spend time together outdoors - an opportunity that had not happened in almost three years. The seminar paved the way for our SonnedixFrance office to get to know each other more, including understanding each other's work functions, interacting in team-building activities, and spending quality time together. Thank you to our One Team in France for bringing their Positive Energy to the seminar!
