⭐ For the 6th year in a row, Sonnedix has achieved the highest five star GRESB rating for our commitment to sustainability⭐ This year we also achieved a perfect score of 100 points and were named an Infrastructure Sector Leader for our sustainability leadership over the course of 2022. The GRESB Sector Leader Awards recognizes real estate and infrastructure companies, funds and assets that have demonstrated outstanding leadership in sustainability each year. Sonnedix participated in the Infrastructure Assessment, obtaining Sector Leader Designation. Our CEO, Axel Thiemann, said: “We are incredibly proud of this year’s GRESB result, being recognised as the highest performer in ESG, not only in the solar industry but in the wider infrastructure sector. This external, independent recognition highlights our commitment to be a sustainable developer and long term owner - to deliver on behalf of our investors and our employees, for the benefit of society and the planet.”
Last week our Sonnedix UK team followed the sun shinning over London, for a good cause. As social citizens and neighbours within the communities where we operate, we are committed to help improve the local environment. Our UK OneTeam divided into groups and cleaned different areas of the city, collecting a total of 33 bags of rubbish. Congratulations on a successful day of work and lots of PositiveEnergy!

Sonnedix is becoming a key agent leading the energy transition in Spain! Today we celebrate the signing of our first corporate PPA in Spain, with Sidenor Aceros Especiales - European leader in the production of special long steel products - for the supply of clean energy produced by our 36MW solar PV plant Sonnedix Fraile (in Ciudad Real, central Spain) during 12 years. More importantly, this is the first time an energy purchase agreement is signed with the support of the Spanish Reserve Fund for Guarantees of Electro-intensive Entities (FERGEI), implemented by the Ministerio de Industria, Comercio y Turismo (Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism) in collaboration with Cesce (Spanish Export Credit Agency). This is a major double milestone for Sonnedix Spain, which continues its journey of over 12 years of sustainable growth in the country, powering a bright future. Full news below.
Today, Sonnedix celebrated the inauguration of its largest project built in Spain (to date): 50MW Sonnedix Los Frailes, in Badajoz. The solar PV plant is expected to produce approximately 102GWh per year, which is the equivalent of powering more than 30,000 homes with clean electricity and avoiding approximately 16,000 tons of CO2. During construction, Sonnedix generated approximately 250 new jobs in Badajoz, in line with its ESG standards and commitment to the local economy and community. We are very excited to partner with a company like Endesa - Spain’s largest electric company - which shares our commitment and drive to power a bright future for all! Sonnedix signed a 12-year renewable energy power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 77MW solar PV portfolio acquired in July 2021, comprised of five solar plants in Valladolid, Castilla y León province of Spain. The portfolio is estimated to produce a total volume of 156GWh of renewable energy per year, equivalent to powering over 50,000 homes, and capable of avoiding more than 30,000 tons of CO2. Sonnedix announced in February that it had reached the commercial operating date for its first solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Poland: Sonnedix Ciechanowiec. The plant is expected to generate 2320MhW of clean electricity during its first year of operation and is located in Podlaskie voivodeship. Read more about this announcement below.
Sonnedix announced it had secured its first power purchase agreement (PPA) in Colorado with Guzman Energy for its 110 MW Sonnedix Solar Fountain project. Sonnedix will develop, build, operate, and maintain the solar facility as the project sponsor. As an off-taker, Guzman Energy will purchase 100% of the power generated by Sonnedix Solar Fountain for its power portfolio, which is used to serve current and future Guzman Energy wholesale customer power loads.
