I have interviewed with Berlin product team. The process was incredibly long, mostly because there was never a single point of contact. As it appears, even recruiters in Zalando works only through assistants, thus each meeting needed to be planned 2-3 weeks in advance and required long chasing on back and forth emails. A technical recruiter was surprisingly knowledgable (at least compared to other interviews with similar companies I had), but still was asking questions like "how many brands are we selling, how many transaction we do, what is our revenue". I guess there is a merit of testing person's background knowledge, but perhaps it should be focused more on competitions and landscape, rather than on PR data you can simply google. On the other hand, interview with a senior PM really left me unimpressed. I got asked really typical "what is your strong sides" question you would expect from a junior HR, but not from a product leader. Also, I really didn't get any clear explanation of "radical agility" they preach, what I heard is more looked like a 10 people startup ad-hoc way of working applied to 10000 people company. After reading a bit more on Glassdoor about current state of the product department in Zalando (and not hearing back for a really while), I decided to skip this opportunity.
