A friend sent me a Jobvite, so I decided to apply. They responded within hours with a very detailed description of salary and expected career path, and asked to schedule a phone interview. I scheduled it for the following day. The call from a sales manager came in about 2 minutes after the window. About 30 seconds in, he had to take another call and asked to call me back. About 30 minutes later, he called back. Professional and friendly, he didn't ask anything unexpected. I think he was looking for really specific answers which were easily found on the website. All of the questions are laid out in other reviews. What is yelp? What do you know about the position? What interests you about cold-calling and sales? Then were a few less typical questions. What other jobs interest you? What other jobs have you applied to recently? I answered honestly to all of the questions. I think they want Yelp evangelists though, and I just couldn't bring myself to say cold-calling small businesses to sell them ad space they don't want is my dream job. If you're enthusiastic about cold-calling, this would be a great place for you. All in all, it was not a bad experience beyond the hit to the self-esteem of not being qualified for entry level, boiler-room sales. I do appreciate their straight forward approach to compensation schedules despite the fact that the pay is dismal.

The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.

The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
It was a one time interview over video call with a pre call before. One on one with a training manager. Pretty simple not too hard at all. Lasted 30 minutes with questions and role plays.
