A recruiter approached me about this position. Initial recruiter call was pretty typical. Chatting through my experience. Next step was a call with the hiring manager. He was a former Uber engineer who over the last couple of years worked his way up to PM lead. Uber was his first job out of college. Years wise, he doesn't have a ton of experience for the role, and the interview was what you'd expect from that level of experience -- very basic, simple, open ended questions. He didn't probe or ask any follow up questions to any of my responses. Nice enough person, just not a lot of depth. After the interview I followed up with the recruiter thanking her for setting up the interview. No response. I followed up about a week later asking if she had a chance to sync with the hiring manager, no response. I then got an automated survey asking me about how the interview went. I tried to log into the Uber Careers page but it gives me an "Account email address format is invalid." response. I assumed they passed on me. Note to Uber: Follow up with candidates after interviews.
