      Entrevista

      Start with a 45-minute interview and then receive test assignment, which was to write a blog for the Trulioo website and optimize the web copy for its Wealth Management page (FREE WORK & CONSULTING). Candidates are expected to read a 32-page style guide that contradicts the web copy to be optimized. This is because, as the Trulioo employee admitted, the rules for web copy are different than what is stated in the style guide, and the style guide is dated and needs an update (SMART, EMPATHIC HIRING PROCESS). The Trulioo employee emphasized candidates would be graded on research, creativity, and writing, but instead graded the assignment on the style guide (the same style guide he said didn't apply to web copy!). Was graded negatively for errors the original page's copy made too, such as not writing "Trulioo" before "GlobalGateway." The Trulioo employee also dinged me for adding data and testimonials to the page because he didn't know where they came from (CHECK YOUR WEBSITE). The Trulioo employee said the blog wasn't a good fit, which was interesting because Trulioo's direct competitors are creating original research on the topic and getting it mentioned in industry magazines (like most software companies getting digital PR right these days). Advice to Trulioo: quit making the rules up as you go to the detriment of applicants. Take a couple hours to update your style guide so it applies to the entire assignment you give applicants.

The style guide is provided purely for reference to assist with any assignments given. We empathize that it is not a great feeling to get rejected after putting hard work in the interview process hence we share the hiring steps involved early in the process. We encourage candidates to share their experience with the P&C partner and we take a lot of care to ensure you have a positive experience with us. We will take that feedback in order to improve continuously.
