The application process lasted about a month. I went through the entire course of interviews including portfolio presentation, tech evaluation, ad-hoc research challenge, and the virtual onsite with the entire prospective team. The amount of time I spent in calls was around 10 hours, not even taking into account the preparation time required for each meeting. Despite getting rave reviews from some of the individuals I spoke with, I was issued a standardized rejection mail a few days following the final interview. My biggest point of criticism is the design of the virtual onsite, which now, because of COVID and the need to do everything remote, is just a series of panel and 1:1 meetings split up over a few days. I feel like a lot of time could be saved by evaluating the performance of the candidate after each step to prevent unnecessary meetings with candidates they're no longer actually considering, instead of running through the full course of interviews just because they're all booked in advance. My case is representative of many examples you can read about in Glassdoor. I would proceed with caution, knowing that there is a major time investment required. On a positive note, everyone I spoke to was great, and I never felt like I was put on the spot. The questions I was asked were not difficult, but well-designed to assess your skillset and thought process.

Several weeks before invitation for meeting, quite some emails back and forth, rescheduling and eventually a relatively long wait for feedback on interview after the decline.
