      Entrevista

      In a nutshell: good company but their recruiting team is terrible. I applied online. After few days, I had a phone call scheduled with their head of mobile. Unfortunately, the recruiter scheduled the call on someone's calendar at the wrong time. Well, I guess it happens. I eventually had the call later on that week. The head of mobile was really great to talk to, he is very passionate about his company, as well as being super friendly. They sent me some homework to do, not too hard but challenging. I went for the onsite a week or two after. Met the head of mobile again, their Android eng and their VP of engineering. They asked you to build an app from scratch using an existing API. The interviews went well, everyone was very communicative and friendly. Although, their Android engineer is fully remote and a different timezone, what could be problematic on a long term basis. VPE was nice to talk to as well, he was very knowledgable about the company's direction and goals even if he started a month before. At the end, the head of the recruiting team closed the interview (my recruiter was gone that day, sic). She did not ask me any question at all. I then took the initiative to explain my current work situation (work visa) + discussing what the compensation would be and other details. She did not receive my requests very well. She did not know her peer did not ask me anything prior to the onsite. Fews days after, my original recruiter called me to chat about my expectations in terms of compensation. I initially told my full compensation (hence including perks such as stocks) what make them dizzy. I also explained that if I applied to their company I knew the compensation will be lower. They ghosted me for few days until my recruiter emailed me telling me I did not get the job because "we have to be really selective about who we bring on". I can understand it, although I came from the West coast for their interview, fully paid my stay and I would have expected a phone call to communicate this decision.

      Entrevista

      HR meeting, technical interview, live coding (on Android app). Overall, it was a nice experience; people were really good, and I was satisfied with the whole process. I would recommend Slice.

      There are five interview stages: 1. Hr screening for half an hour 2. Pairing interview one hour 3. Technical interview one hour 4. Talk with the CEO about cultural fit

      You will get all sorts of interview questions, and they will drain you in the two-hour process, you need to speak a lot and you will not get a lot of feedback from the interviewers when you are going to get to the pairing interview, and they want you to create a project from scratch and see how you going to implement it (so if you haven't started a new project in the last month, they will fail you). They have no clear instructions on what needs to be talked through and what needs to happen, and no clear way of evaluating the candidate's seniority. The task will be delivered one hour before the interview so you can review what needs to be implemented.
