Applied thru website and got a call from the recruiter. I met with some of the team, did a homework assignment but there was radio silence. My guess is they already have their candidates lined up but need to show that their pipeline does not have a diversity problem.
My interview process wasn't that great - interviewers were curt and arrogant. During a case interview, I was informed by one of my interviewers that Slack does not have an issue with churn and seemed offended that I brought it up as a way to diagnose the case he presented. My HR point of contact wasn't any better in representing the more quirky or empathetic piece of their culture. And every interviewer's style was inconsistent.
The message they are sending out is as follows: If you have not already worked at Twitter, Google, or Facebook, don't bother applying. If you have suggestions or ways to improve the experience, keep it to yourself. We are too busy hiring to ensure every candidate has a great experience.
