I was initially contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn. I wasn't interested at first, but they were persistent, so I agreed to move forward. Round 1: Initial recruiter screen. Round 2: Online IQ test, which was sent after the recruiter screen. Round 3: Interview with the hiring manager, more so of a conversation and get to know you than an actual interview, think they asked 3-4 questions at most. Round 4: "Life story" interview, expect multiple hours to prep for their dumb questions. After this the recruiter will send case study assignment and a schedule a presentation. They arranged a prep call with a current Solutions Engineer to answer any questions about the scenario. Unfortunately, the person showed up 15 minutes late and couldn’t answer basic questions about the case they were supposed to help with. Round 5: Final presentation. I showed up prepared, but Shopify completely ghosted the interview. No one attended. I followed up with the recruiter via phone and email multiple times over the course of several days and received no response. I was completely ghosted. This was by far the most unprofessional interview experience of my career. Despite their initial persistence, they wasted my time across five rounds of interviews and failed to even extend the courtesy of a response. AVOID!

Completed 5 rounds of interviews for a Solution Engineer role. Final rejection cited 'lack of ecommerce experience,' a fact clearly stated on my resume from the start. Significant disrespect for candidate time.
