Applied online, got an email back 3 weeks later (I was actually surprised, I figured at that point the decision was already made since the position was removed from the careers page on the website) asking to give some options for a phone interview. During the interview it was a very relaxed atmosphere where I was asked mostly about my life in general, with the main focus being structured around why shopify, and what I do in my present career. Unfortunately this time I did not get an offer, but I had a great experience, and definitely would encourage others to apply. Just be prepared to talk about yourself not in a generic "what are your strengths and weaknesses?" cookie-cutter interview kind of way.
