Roche has the most bizarre and unethical recruiting process I've had exposure to in a while. I usually don't write bad reviews on Glassdoor but my experience is so dumbfounding I'm feeling the urge to share. I applied for the position back in January and had a recruiter reach out to me via email a month later. In the email she indicated she wanted my availability. However, there were also a couple questions included in the email that she wanted me to answer. The email did not state that her calling me was dependent on my answers to her questions. It indicated she would call. Very deceiving because ultimately the answers to those questions determine whether or not you get a call because I did not get a response from her. And I reached out twice with availability. Since the situation seemed questionable I actually submitted an ethics complaint because there was no other avenue available to provide feedback. I did get a response from someone in another country and they indicated they would forward to US counterparts. That was the extent of the follow-up. I let it go as of last week but then something happened this am. I got a random phone call from the recruiters numbers at 8:17am this morning. I was unavailable at the time so did not answer. No heads up from her, no phone message left and no follow-up email. I sent her an email this am asking about the phone call and have not gotten a response. I have a feeling I will never hear from her again.
Bizarre and terrible recruiting process and/or recruiter. I realize this company scores high (in the 4's) ... but that's largely due to compensation and benefits not due to health of work environment or treatment of employees. FYI.

Pleasant and professional. Was contacted by HR adviser and pre-screening was conducted over the phone. On the day of actual interview, both HR and Hiring Manager present in the interview. HR is more of an observatory role whereas Hiring Manager goes thru a set of questions to test both professional skills and behaviors. Generally structured and a little branching off when certain questions requires more probing. Didn't get the role as there's better candidate. But HR didn't inform. Waited for end of 1 week (by the time which is pretty obvious I didn't get it) before following up with HR to get official confirmation.
