I want to start by apologizing to this reviewer for the impression that they have taken from their experience with our recruiting process. I am responsible for initial contact and vetting of applicants and I take the criticism seriously as an assessment of our treatment of candidates seeking roles with our organization.
Our office has been located in Pacific Beach for the last 24 years, and in that time our physical proximity to UCSD has resulted in many applicants from that school seeking roles with us. As the reviewer infers, PINT recognizes the high quality of the education offered at that institution and as with any university of merit, we are likely to closely consider applicants from programs that relate to our field of work.
I must, however, strongly protest the disparaging labels directed at our organization, specifically the conclusion that PINT seeks any nefarious position engaging candidates who are recently-graduated and seeking to enter the web development field. We do seek ambitious candidates who want to work on the web, but I can’t allow that we simply draw from a single pool of talented people: we recruit candidates from all over the country (and world), and with a variety of experience. Over two decades we’ve hired a lot of people, and it would be negligent to base our talent strategy on a single program.
I began with an apology and I want to reiterate that sentiment…I can allow that in the case of this reviewer’s experience our recruiting process did not live up to their expectations and I am deeply sorry if that was a result of oversight or other circumstantial inadequacies. I don’t intend to contradict their opinion (as I stated, I take it seriously), but I hope that they consider its impact and that they will reach out directly to me with recommendations for improvement to mmiraglia@pint.com.
