First round interview conducted over the phone. After following NG interview recommendations in answering the first question "tell me about yourself", the interviewer spent most of the time exploring my interest in different types of roles within the organization and emphasized that there were a lot of opportunities. He asked almost nothing about my professional background or fit for the actual role that I had applied to. At the end of the interview, I was told that the next steps would be a follow-up interview in a week. I then learned a few days later that they would not be moving forward with me without any explanation as to why. A poorly conducted interview in my opinion, unless there was some reason I was passed over that is unrelated to my competence.
