Process at my college : It comprised of 3 stages. First stage was online screening test divided in two halves. First halve had multiple choice questions testing basic knowledge of mostly Data structures and algorithms, and a few question from other areas like operating systems and networks. Second stage was a so called "group-flyer" round. In this stage candidates screened through first stage were divided into groups of 7-10 and each group was made to seat in a different rooms of our tutorial block. Then two programming questions were written on the blackboards of each room and we were asked to write the solution code on the paper and submit. Third stage consisted of usual interview rounds. One had to progress through the rounds. Those who were finally selected had three to four rounds of interviews.
