After submitting application got a call for 1st phone interview. The first interview was taken by someone who didn't know anything about machine learning so it was a total waste of time. After 1st interview got a call for the second interview. Interestingly before the second interview got a call from the hiring manager abruptly and he started asking me about my experience, my salary at current employer and my salary expectations. When I mentioned my salary expectations he mentioned that they have a lot of better candidates with more relevant experience and from good schools and their salary expectation is lower than mine. It was really awkward conversation and it seems like he was trying to suggest me to lower my expectations. Especially asking current salary without giving any offer and valuing a person who is ready to pay for lower money rather than valuing his qualifications was very alarming. Overall really bad experience of the interview process.
