It's such a shame, really.
I'll start with the positives. The initial chat with the Tech Recruiter was great. She was attentive, the conversation was pleasant and overall, left me with a great first impression of Fever and its mission. She was happy to immediately move me forward to the next step.
The next step was a chat with the Hiring Manager. Again, this was another enjoyable chat. She had questions that were mostly behavioural and I discussed prior experiences to help with answering these questions. They including questions such as challenging projects, handling constructive feedback, describing a time of hardship, etc. This interview finished on an awesome note and I appreciated the energy the Engineering Manager had.
Shortly after, I was emailed with a congratulations for succeeding to the next step, which was a technical take home assignment. I gave them my availability on when I could begin the test and I was told I'd be given 72 hours to do it.
However, this take home assignment never came. And when I reached out to the recruiter regarding this, I was met with radio silence. I did try once more to re-establish a communication with her but ultimately, nothing returned.
Again, such a shame. I understand if positions get filled and/or headcounts get adjusted internally but I would've been open to maintaining a contact for the foreseeable future. And if not that, at the very least, a notification that they're no longer continuing the process would've been sufficient, as disappointing as that would've been.
