I was initially contacted by an individual in HR to schedule a phone screening. During the first phone interview, questions were primarily technical. Be prepared to have detailed knowledge about prior experiences, specifically if they were finance-oriented. The individual I interviewed with was very personable, and the interview, while tough, was very casual. I received an offer to interview in their office less than 3 weeks later. Proceeding to the office, I talked with multiple partners who seemed genuinely interested in myself as a fit for the company, more so than the experience I had. While my conversations were primarily concentrated on my finance experience, it was a very casual experience and the partners were very easy to talk to. I proceeded to have lunch with an associate, and learned more about the day-to-day life of an BVAL associate. Overall, I gathered that Deloitte's BVAL office emphasized two things more than any other: a working foundation of finance knowledge, specifically within the valuation sector, and your fit into the Deloitte culture and organizaitn.
I was given a call back a couple weeks later extending an offer. The HR individual I talked to was very receptive. Throughout the waiting time, I maintained lines of communication with the associate and partners I talked with. Overall, this process was very smooth, and I couldn't have had a better experience.
