The interview process consisted of around 5 stages, all of them went well and I kept good communication with the HR Representative throughout the whole process. I am currently on a Graduate Visa which was informed to the recruiter during the screening call. After extensive rounds of interviews and an offer being made and accepted, they called me last minute to withdraw the offer as 'management was not informed of my visa situation' and they decided to go for someone else. I was due to start in early September, and my Graduate Visa was going to expire in mid February next year. Although the probation period for this job is just 3 months, the management team decided that the time period between my start date and my visa expiry was insufficient for me to prove that I am the right fit for this position, which totally contradicts the feedback I received after the interviews. I was absolutely shocked by this decision and feel very disheartened as an international professional seeking employment in the UK. It is already very difficult for us to find jobs willing to sponsor a Skilled Worker Visa in the 2 years we have on the Graduate Visa. After more than a year of job hunting and applications, I finally got a job offer only to be taken away from me the following week on the grounds of not enough time remaining on my current visa. Words cannot describe the disappointment I felt when I was informed my offer was withdrawn. The feedback I receive after the interviews was excellent but unfortunately, the company does not care about talent and expertise. The full process lasted around 2 months, I put in effort during each interview, took time off work to prepare and attend the meetings. It's disrespectful to make a candidate waste so much time and to know they don't value nor support young professionals but rather care more about a visa. I wouldn't recommend applying for a job at Deliveroo to any Graduate Visa holders, do not waste your time as your skills will not be taken into consideration.
