I applied for 2 positions with Booking.com - through an internal referral/ contact. After several weeks, I asked my contact and they followed up on the status of my application and kindly told me I would hear back soon. I never heard back on either of my applications. Nearly 2 months later. As a professional recruiter with experience in employment branding I am surprised that a seemingly reputable brand can afford to operate with such poor quality processes and has such a low regard for candidate experience. I note they are now recruiting for an employment branding position- perhaps someone should tell them that running a respectful and timely process with appropriate communication processes would be the first step in developing a positive 'employer of choice' reputation.
If this is their attitude think I probably dodged a bullet. However Booking.com has also now lost a regular customer and brand champion.
