I interviewed for 2 positions in the last 9 months. All interviews are virtual. I wasn't selected to move on for the second position, but interviewed with 4 individuals after the hiring manager for the first position. I was NEVER notified that I didn't get the position despite being told I was a finalist. Messages asking for updates from the hiring manager and HR went unanswered. Surprisingly, I DID get an email from HR about 2 months later asking how the process went. Despite the negative experience, I decided to interview for a similar role with the same hiring manager 9 months later. I was disappointed that I wasn't moved on in the process this time, but knew there were likely many good candidates for the role. What was disappointing was seeing who they hired. I had over 15 years of leadership experience related to the role and an extensive network in the space. The individual hired had no experience or connections from what I could see on their LinkedIn profile. This was a highly visible, externally facing role so it was surprising that AZ would hire someone who did not appear to meet any of the criteria on the job description. If you're interviewing with AZ, be aware that their job descriptions may not always be a reflection of what they are looking for.
