Four years after The Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology was established, this weekend we celebrated the graduation of our first cohort of Undergraduate Engineers. The first year-group of 33 students graduated on Saturday in a ceremony on Dyson’s Campus in Hullavington Airfield, where they were joined by James Dyson. They all achieved a BEng Degree Apprenticeship in Engineering from WMG, University of Warwick, and have all chosen to accept full time roles at Dyson. Congratulations to every one of our graduates! Introducing the Race Against Dementia Dyson Fellowship. The James Dyson Foundation funds a five year, £500,000 dementia research Fellowship in partnership with former F1 driver Jackie Stewart’s charity, Race Against Dementia. Our Fellow, Dr Claire Durrant, seeks to establish new human models of Alzheimer’s disease. Dyson engineers are helping Claire analyse brain samples on a microscopic level, using in-house equipment and expertise at Dyson’s labs in Wiltshire. Ten years ago, Royal United Hospitals Bath (RUH) opened the Dyson Centre for Neonatal Care. A neonatal intensive care unit engineered to create a healthier environment for over 500 babies annually, their parents and staff. This month the hospital breaks ground for the upcoming Dyson Cancer Centre, opening in 2023. A pioneering cancer services hub, which has been supported by a £4million donation from the James Dyson Foundation, our charitable arm.
