Ventajas

Within a shambles lots of flexibility for p/t workers with corresponding easy-going attitude amongst co workers. Lots of opportunity to learn if you are keen, along with opportunity to step up into greater responsibility. Warehouse conditions fair.

Desventajas

Absolutely NO structured trainings. You learn as you go and your mistakes are covered over by Fastenal's exorbitant prices. Even as you step up into greater responsibility you will have to fight every inch to get even a tiny increase in your close-to-the-bottom pay. Warehouse work is heavy and cleanliness is most noticeable at ISO time. Reliance on poorly paid part time workers means an ever shifting work force which works against any attempts to create continuity and improve standards.

Ventajas

Lots of responsibility. Decentralized company, which can work in your favor.

Desventajas

Pay is low based on competitors. Politics, lots of it. Cost-centers everywhere. Everyone has to make money off the branches: the hub, NA, regions, support, etc. Being a GM is probably one of the hardest jobs. Your job on the lean team is to support NA and the branch. It is hard to fully support both at the same time. It is a balancing act that frequently is blamed on you. Frequently, your coworkers just want to put their name on your work and create problems because of their egos.
