Ventajas

You'll work with some wonderful colleagues, impossible to be fired, decent benefits package, products are good

Desventajas

Isolated location with few amenities. You will NEVER receive a pay raise... The lies start at your recruitment process, proceed during your interviews and continue throughout your 'career' at Oracle. "If you're not lying, you're not trying". This is the ethos of Oracle Dublin. You cannot be successful here based on your own merit and talent as your territories, deals and commissions are all at the hands of a deeply corrupt and narcissistic management team. The only corporate sponsored training that managers receive is a workshop in how to behave in court while being sued for screwing reps out of commission (Seriously). They are completely out of touch with the technology they are selling and the customers they are selling to. There is absolutely zero strategy. Management will force their way into customer engagements just to be "seen".... This more often than not ends in disaster as senior management are known as "deal killers" (true story). Morale is extremely low at Oracle Dublin. You will not be interviewed on the sales floor because management do not want you to see the empty chairs. The sales floor is like a library. Turnover is shocking. Managers lock themselves in meetings for hours a week. In my nearly 3 years I have never seen any productive output of these meetings... Zero. It's a clown car. In apps there is approximately 1 manager for every 2 reps. So you'll be drawn into ridiculous 1on1's and meetings about meetings so that they can justify their positions and salaries and be seen to be busy. Back stabbing is rife. Collaboration is a dirty word because of this. Internal resources are hard to come by at Oracle... There is a lot of red tape just to get any help with a client. You'll rely heavily on partners because knowledge and expertise does not exist inside of the building... even though many people have between 10-30 years of experience. They are only talented at justifying failure each quarter. Oracle does not like to pay commissions for honest work. You will be screwed (see management training).

Ventajas

It is very team dependent, but at least my team had great work life balance and good culture. It was easy to take time off, work was meaningful and not too stressful.

Desventajas

Work from home is discouraged, little to no pay increases yearly, yearly layoffs and stack ranking.

Ventajas

Cada grupo / división puede ser diferente en la forma en que tratan a sus empleados, pero yo diría que, en general, hay una muy buena atmósfera de confianza y equidad. Hay un fuerte enfoque en la educación, y reembolsan las clases externas tomadas (hasta 5k / año, creo). Los beneficios son buenos y yo diría que bastante competitivos en el mercado. Buena coincidencia de 401K (contribuirán con un máximo del 3% de su 6% o más). Bebidas gratis en la sala de descanso. Flexibilidad para trabajar desde casa en ocasiones. (Si vive a más de 50 millas de una oficina, puede trabajar a tiempo completo desde su casa ... política).

Desventajas

No intentan hacer del lugar de trabajo algo especial (¿tal vez una mesa de billar y un juego de arcade sean un cliché o un truco?). En los 10 años que he trabajado allí, me han dado 2 miserables aumentos de costo de vida del% 1 (esto es lo mismo con la mayoría de las personas con las que he hablado, algunos no reciben ningún aumento). Nunca obtendrás un aumento sustancial, a menos que te vayas y luego te vuelvan a contratar (no igualarán las ofertas, es mejor que te vayas). Los nuevos empleados que capacite ganarán de 10 a 20 mil más que usted varios años después de su contratación (no solo a mí, ellos le hacen esto a todos los empleados titulares). Le darán títulos más altos a estas personas no capacitadas y menos experimentadas (nuevamente, esto se hace para todos, no solo para mí). Aprendes bastante rápido que eres prescindible. La empresa tiene miles de millones en efectivo y no reinvierten en sus empleados, solo en adquirir nuevas empresas y contratar nuevas personas que no saben nada que usted pueda capacitar.
