The Interview Process: I applied for a Sales Manager position at mogenius a few months ago. The process began conventionally with an interview call with the CEO, followed by a video interview with the CPO. Both stages were promising and left me optimistic. However, the next phase raised several red flags that in retrospect should have alerted me to how mogenius treats their applicants. I was asked to do on my own time an in-depth case study (a "take home") that I would then present to the hiring manager. That's relatively common nowadays, except for: 1) The 4-part(!) case study was asking to do unpaid strategic + technical + sales operational work (literally what I'd be doing in this position) AND it all had to be done on one of mogenius's own properties. This wasn't showcasing past work, or discussing general strategy about an invented property. It was free work that could be directly used in their sales operations . Basically free consulting work disguised as "a case study".
It's one thing to have a rigorous selection process, but another entirely to take advantage of candidates - stringing them along while asking free work under ridiculous deadlines Future applicants: be wary of the commitment you're making at mogenius, and make sure you're not being exploited for free consulting.
