I was contacted by the recruiter. At the beginning, I received a presentation about the company, which I found very useful, since we didn’t have to waste time answering the obvious questions. The interview went well, and we agreed that I was a good fit for the position. I instantly received a take-home exercise, which was very interesting, and I loved completing it. I finished it in two days, even though there was no deadline. I sent the solution, including the link to the code and everything needed.
I received a “Thanks, we got it — we’ll get back to you soon with the evaluation” email. Since then, not a single word — it’s like they disappeared into the vast network of the internet. I sent a follow-up message to ask about the status and whether there was any update, but I didn’t receive a reply. They completely disappeared.
For me, it was a very negative experience. Ghosting someone is, I think, the ugliest gesture you can get. The position has probably been filled, because it disappeared from their website. If they had simply told me that I wasn’t a good match, I would have been absolutely fine with that. But this ghosting is disgusting.
