The whole process took me four weeks and included four interviews. I always scheduled the calls to fit their time, even though it made things harder for me since I work all day. Everything went well until the final interview.In that last interview, I spoke with the hiring manager, who seemed annoyed from the start. The 40-minute interview was basically pointless, with only two questions asked: one about how most vulnerabilities arise, to which I responded that they usually come from misconfigurations or outdated software, and another asking if I could fix the vulnerabilities found, to which I honestly replied, “I can try.”It was clear that this person had made up their mind before we even started. The next day, I received the typical automated rejection letter. I even asked for feedback to understand what went wrong since I was confident I had done everything right, but I didn’t get a reply.It’s ridiculous that a manager would reject a candidate who had already been approved by the CISO, HR, and the technical interviewer. In the end, Zoom just wasted my time.
