      Entrevista

I Applied online to every open position available. I Was contacted by a coach via text to set up an interview about a week later, although the coach couldn't tell me who I would be interviewing with at that time. On the day of the interview, the coach let me know the names of the team leads I would be interviewing with and where to go to meet them. I came in dressed professionally with my notes and questions ready. I interviewed with a team lead from apparel and a team lead from seasonal. They basically asked me why I wanted to come back to retail, why I was making such a drastic career change from my previous career in the medical field etc. They asked me if I was comfortable with technology, modulars, plan-o-grams and customer service, asked about previous experience and why I would be a good fit. Typical interview questions, but nothing very substantial. After each department explained what position I would be applying for, they basically asked me which one I wanted. I let them know that seasonal sounded more interesting in my opinion as far as pacing goes but I would need some time to weigh the options. I was made uncomfortable when the team lead from apparel tried to convince me that seasonal work was trash, and I was making the wrong choice. I nervously laughed it off and soon they were asking me if I had any questions for them. Being a professional, I did. I asked them about their team dynamics, about policy and procedures that I was curious about, nothing crazy in my opinion, just basic stuff that any self respecting candidate would ask. I might as well have grown a horn on my forehead for the way they looked at me. The team leads were legitimately stumped. It was as if no one had ever had enough braincells to ask them a question about anything before. After some fumbling and exchanged looks of shock, they managed to give me some half-assed answer about a wonderful team dynamics and going above and beyond to help each other out, etc. I wasn't impressed, but I desperately needed the money. After thanking them for their time, shaking hands, etc, I was told to call the store the next day at a certain time to reconnect with the team lead who was interested in hiring me. I obediently called the next day and was told that the team lead I needed to talk to was unavailable. So I respectfully gave them time. A few days later I received no less than 2 more texts from coaches asking me if I was still interested in working for Walmart in two entirely different departments. Of course I said yes assuming that they decided to go with someone else on the other team. I explained the situation to the new coaches that contacted me each time, and each time the text message said something to the effect of : " okay, I'll get back to you " About 2 weeks later I get a text from the original coach that reached out to me asking me if I was available for orientation. The entire process was unprofessional and clearly demonstrated how little communication is actually going on in the store. No one actually knew until I came into orientation what I was there for.

      Entrevista

The interview process was easy peasy. I went to the back and talked for like 10 min and left with an offer. And they told me who I would be reporting too and about pay.
