Past the HR screening, I had the hiring manager ask for a full-blown Powerpoint deck to be sent to him detailing my suggestions on the company strategy and what his group should focus on. He asked for close to 10 slides due within a week. I completed the slides which took considerable time and never received a thank you, an acknowledgement or any feedback. These kind of hiring managers just use you to get data and then use your work afterwards.
