I was genuinely excited to interview with AI.edu, a company whose mission I believed in. Unfortunately, my experience with their hiring process was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. After being ghosted three times following scheduled interviews, I finally managed to secure a conversation with their recruiter. During the interview, I was assured that I was a top candidate and was told to expect follow-up information about scheduling a second interview. Trusting their word, I waited patiently for two weeks without any updates. When I finally followed up, I was abruptly informed that I was no longer being considered for the role. This lack of transparency and accountability was both disheartening and frustrating. Job seekers invest significant time and effort into preparing for interviews, and to be treated with such disregard shows a lack of respect for candidates. In today’s job market, where competition is fierce and opportunities scarce, this experience was especially demoralizing. I hope AI.edu takes steps to improve its hiring process and communication with candidates. Respect, clear expectations, and timely updates are the bare minimum any candidate deserves.

I applied before the holidays, so it took a while to get connected, but the recruiter worked with me to give me time. She was pleasant and I can tell she is up against managing several calendars. This is a startup, so important to know there is ambiguity. I enjoyed my conversation, though I crave structure. For a new company, I'm intrigued by their maturity. I was well prepared for interviews by the Recruiter and enjoyed the energy, comradery, and grit to build.
