I applied online with a CV and cover letter. I got an email a few days later inviting me to an interview, which was about an hour long and 1 on 1. The interviewer was very nice, mostly questions about my experience with data science and my master's project and different programming languages I knew. I was told I would hear in 1-2 weeks about the next stage, now four weeks later I have heard nothing, despite an email asking for feedback. Given that I spent lots of time preparing I think the least they could do is inform me of the decision and give me a few lines of feedback. Perhaps they don't want to say that they rejected me because I said I wasn't comfortable working in the defence industry.

The 1st interviews was okay, talked about my experience and why I was interested in the role. The 2nd interview though as a full day affair, starting at 9am going all the way till around 3 pm.
The first part included a coding exercise to see your coding ability, this involved a sheet with a few questions about making a password generator. Quite engaging and I believe a good test of ability. Then talks with different members of staff, some just a small talk others for getting to go through your projects.
Then after lunch a review on your coding.
After this it was a presentation with a senior member of staff on a subject you had prepared and later end talks. Over this was a good experience though if a but longer then needed.
After that I waited to hear my feed back, unfortunately that never came and I was just informed I was unsuccessful. How disrespectful. After hours and days of preparing they didn't give feed back. This may be a good company but there interview process need to be re thought and they need to learn to respect people who put so many hours into the interview process.

My interview was done over Skype. The interview was fairly relaxed and I wasn't asked any difficult questions. Most the questions were about my academic background and my experience and skills. I was told before that the interview could take up to an hour but my one took 30 minutes.
