      Entrevista

      I attended Tech Mahindra campus recruitment drive at our college.The process is as follows. 1) Online test. 2) Online essay writing. 3) Technical interview. 4) HR interview. Online test consists of 170 questions and you have to complete them in 80 minutes.There is no negative marking. These 170 questions are divided into 7 modules and there is sectional cutoff. Out of these 7 modules, 3 modules contain questions related to English and they are easy( not very easy, you have to prepare a bit). 1 module of quantitative aptitude. 3 modules consisting of questions related to reasoning. English--- 100 marks Quantitative aptitude---15 or 20 marks Reasoning---- around 50 questions The proportion of marks may vary!!! For English, you have to know the basic grammatical rules, because most of the questions will be testing you on that part. And apart from that the topics you should stress are 1) Synonyms 2) Antonyms 3) Analogies and take a look at Prepositions , Articles and Tenses. First make sure that you know the basic rules of English. That's enough. We can anyway answer the reading comprehension easily. But be careful, understand the passage clearly and then answer the questions. Nothing will be very easy and you have to concentrate a bit. For quantitative aptitude, R.S.Aggarwal book is more than enough. 15-20 questions will appear in quantitative aptitude section. The questions will be from Partnerships, Simple and compound interest, Profit and loss, Percentages, Time and work etc. 3 modules are from Reasoning part. For this you should practice Blood relations, Directions, Series completion, Odd man out, Figures and some other logical questions. There is sectional cut off friends. So be careful. Don't neglect any part. There is no negative marking. So answer all the questions. Manage the time wisely. We are not informed with cut off percentage for written test!!! If you clear the written test, then you are asked to continue to the essay writing section. The time is 10 minutes and you have to write 150-200 words on the topic given to you. If you make more than 5 mistakes ( Grammatical and spelling mistakes combined ) , you are eliminated.So be careful. Just be calm and write it in simple English. You can easily crack the essay writing part. The only thing you have to do is don't panic and use simple words. Don't search for some extra-ordinary words. If you clear the essay writing, then you will be qualified for further rounds. Remember guys, there is elimination in essay writing also. Be confident and prepare well. Don't be so bothered about the sectional cut off ans essay writing. It just needs a bit of preparation and it is easy to crack.

      TECHNICAL INTERVIEW: M--Me I--interviewer M: May i come in sir. I: Come in. Take your seat. M:Thank you sir. I: Tell me about yourself and it should include all the details about you. I don't have to ask again for anything. M: Sure sir. (Told everything about myself.) I: Do your remember your exam ID. M: Yes sir. I:Tell me. M: Told my ID number( It will be given to you before the written test). He asked me the ID and looked at my details. I: So sai, you have scored good marks all through your academics. Why don't you go for M.tech? M: Convinced him. I: You have good marks and you can try for core job. Why IT? M: Gave the reasons. One of the reasons is I was interested in IT. I: You said you are interested in IT. What languages do you know. M: C language sir. I: Can you write programs? M: Yes sir. I: Take the paper and write any program. ( WOW....He asked me to write a program of my choice. I was overjoyed and took the paper with a nice smile.) I: Which program you gonna write? M: Factorial, Prime numbers, String programs....etc, sir. I: Ok. I will give you a specific task and you write a program for that. M: Ok sir. ( Oh god!!! Why!!!!!). I: Write a program to store the marks of all students in your college along with names and print the names of those students whose marks are below 50%. M: Ok sir. ( It is a program on structures and i tried it for 10 minutes. I wrote the program and I am damn sure that 30% of the program was wrong. But the logic was right. Thank god.) Explained the program. I: Tell me about your project. M: Told. ( didn't asked any questions.) Asked some technical questions which are quite simple. I: Tell me about your essay. M: Told. I: What are your goals. M: Told. I: What will you do if you didn't achieve your goals in time. M: Told.( I am sure that I will achieve sir. If not, I will double my efforts.) I: Why should Tech M hire you? M: Told. Other simple questions which everyone can answer. He mainly observed my confidence level and communication ability. Be confident in your answers and talk without any breakups. I: Any questions for me? M: Asked a simple question.( I can't remember it now. :). He told something. I shook hands with him and about to leave. Then he asked me to wait for HR. I said Thank you and came out. HR INTERVIEW M---me. I--Interviewer. M: May I come in sir. I: Yes. come in. Take your seat. Sorry for making you wait for so long. ( I was confused. I just waited for 20 minutes after TR interview.I said something and I can't remember it now as they are the words of shock :) I: Can i have your resume. M: Sure sir.( given my resume). I: Tell me about your essay. M: Told. I:How is the written test? M: Fine sir. I: Fine???( With some sort of expression and I don't know what is the meaning of it) M: I mean, average difficulty sir. I: Then why most of your friends got eliminated? What are they saying? M: There is sectional cut off and time is less. So........... I: Ok sai. If you have to give advice to your juniors regarding the written exam, what will you give? M: Told ( Manage the time, attempt all the modules etc...) I: What is the part in which you think you are weak. M: Communication ability sir.( i know it is foolish to tell that, but i covered it somehow by telling that I am above average but still want to improve.) I:Do you have any backlogs? M: No sir. I: Are you willing to relocate? M: Yes sir. I: To New Delhi? M: Yes sir. I: Do you know Hindi? M: A little bit sir. I: Can you manage? M: Absolutely sir. I: Any questions for me? M: Rate me sir. I: You said you are above average. So i don't have to rate you. M: ( I was stunned). No sir. My rating is different from yours. I: See sai, If one knows about his area of improvement, there is no need for him to look out for others opinion. But if you still want me to rate you, you are good. M: Thank you sir.
