Went through 5 rounds of interviews: direct manager, another manager on the team, director, VP, CMO.
Took 2 months to complete all these stages. I received nothing but positive feedback at every stage. I was also told by the recruiter how much the team wanted me for the role and then was shown the benefits and discussed salary range as well. Usually these are signs that an offer is approaching.
I waited 1 week to hear back on the final decision only to learn that the role is changing altogether and that they are looking to bring someone more senior onto the team. This left me completely blind sighted as there was no signs given through out the process that the role was changing. I was told this decision came from the CMO level and that it was not something the rest of the team was in agreement on. There was definitely misalignment on the Tanium side.
As a candidate I had other offers on the table and was waiting to hear back from Tanium as it was my first choice. I felt mislead and thought this would end in a job offer. It makes no sense to me why they would be interviewing and posting a job that was not signed off internally. This was a huge disappointment and a waste of 2 months, not to mention I potentially harmed myself by not accepting the other offers I had been given sooner. My feedback for the Tanium recruiting team would be to ensure that all jobs are 100% approved before interviewing serious candidates and never saying things to mislead a candidate into believing an offer was on the way. It's very disheartening.
