Multiple calls with a teksystems recruiter, 2 calls with the client. Recruiter scheduled calls with the client last minute and at times I told the recruiter I was not available. Client calls went well but they ultimately went with another candidate the same recruiter submitted for the role. Was told the decision was hard and they went with the less experienced candidate because they thought I would be bored with the role. Luckily the process was relatively quick and took up only around 4 hours of my time as opposed to the 20 average hours per role I've experienced interviewing in 2023. Although the time commitment is low compared to interviewing directly, the compensation is also low and considering the recruiter is going to actively work against you as a candidate I feel it is not worth it to support their business with 50% of your billable rate.
