I recently had my first interview for the Business Development Manager role and was very impressed with the experience. My initial conversation was held directly with the CEO, VP of Operations, and CTO, which immediately communicated that leadership is hands-on, accessible, and invested in selecting the right people for the organization. The CEO openly shared the company’s direction, goals, and long-term vision in a way that was both motivating and genuine. The discussion didn’t feel like a checklist interview—it felt like a collaborative conversation about where the company is going, why the work matters, and how this role contributes to meaningful growth. Hearing this level of transparency firsthand demonstrated a strong commitment to culture, accountability, and employee success. What stood out most was the level of engagement throughout the call. The leadership team listened thoughtfully, asked insightful questions, and clearly valued alignment in both skillset and character—not just résumé bullet points. For the CEO to personally invest time in the interview process speaks volumes about the importance they place on building the right team and creating a healthy, high-performance environment. Overall, the interview process was well-structured, professional, and energizing. It left me with a clear understanding of the expectations, opportunities, and strategic direction of the organization. I walked away genuinely excited about the potential to contribute.
