I applied online. Within a couple weeks I received an email from Kevin asking to schedule a phone interview. He calls and says he likes to keep phone screens short. His first question was he did not see any experience with taxes on my resume, so why did I apply for the position? I listed a bunch of reasons I applied including my experience with my current company. He simply says that because I have no Tax Credit experience I am not a fit for the role. This was shocking as he already knew this from looking at my resume. I let him know that on the job description it says it is a qualification that can be completed within 6 months of getting the job. He went on and on about how even though it is not required, only those who are certified are successful. He then said that the company wanted someone who would feel comfortable in the role. Why would I have applied if I did not feel comfortable? Where in the interview process was it established that I did not feel comfortable? I was only asked 1 question. He then said I was not a fit for the role and that would be all.
